As January nears its’ end, Verdin Property take a look back at an extraordinary month for the ‘super prime’ sector of Marbella’s property market.

After a year beset with local and international travel restrictions, lockdowns and varying degrees of uncertainty regarding property prices, 2021 has started like a train for the luxury market.

Properties in the uber exclusive communities of La Zagaleta, Reserva de Alcuzcuz and Puente Romano, always high on the list of preferred areas for the elite of this world, are being snapped up like never before. And this is not because the prices in these areas have fallen significantly, rather they’ve remained constant, it’s because the privacy and space these locations afford has never really before been so in demand.

It’s too early, and possibly rash, to say gone are the days of the centrally located bolt hole close to offices and hotel conference rooms, but the Covid-19 pandemic has certainly brought into sharper focus the need for space and a virtual office.

La Zagaleta. An oasis in the storm for those with deep pockets

Let’s focus on La Zagaleta for a moment. Located 10 minutes from Marbella, this exclusive gated enclave offers 900 hectares of greenery, privacy, security, prime golf courses and an eclectic mix of traditional Andalucian style homes and contemporary mega mansions.

To give you an idea of what it’s like to be in La Zagaleta, let us quickly tell you the very first experience of Verdin Property in La Zagaleta.

First of all, the security is amazing. For a non-resident to gain access to this community, you must present your ID and car registration papers to the security personnel before they will even let you drive off. You will also be asked for some kind of proof of where you are going, this will of course be double checked.

When you do finally gain access, a sense of luxury and enormity surrounds you. Even though its’ nothing really special at first glance, from the very first corner of the road you can see the exquisite properties, wooded hills and valleys in all their glory and splendor stretching out into the distance. To put this into perspective from our point of view, let’s just say that we could easy envisage ourselves living there (we don’t normally say this!).

Now for the properties, to give you an idea of the prices in La Zagaleta, as of the day this article was published the cheapest option is a plot of land for 1.2 million euros. To get an actually built house, you need 1.89 million euros, and that’s a property you can view HERE.

At the opposite end of the scale we find Villa Cullinan, the Diamond of Marbella, which is on the market for a whopping 32 million euros!

The most exclusive mega mansion on the market today

As we previously mentioned, sales of luxury property in La Zagaleta are strong so far this year. Obviously we can’t give you all the details however we can say that two of the biggest sales have been the incredible Villa Heaven 11 by ARK Architects, on the market for 13 million euros, and Casa El Cipres by Tobal Arquitectos, which was for sale at 12 million euros.

It’s also testament to the draw of areas like this that properties at these prices aren’t necessarily being sold after a couple of formal viewings with buyer and agent, it’s becoming increasingly more commonplace for viewings to be conducted by virtual means, and sales finalized without said purchaser ever stepping foot inside the property. We also feel it’s worth pointing out that this isn’t just down to the varying travel restrictions brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, it’s because La Zagaleta has a world famous reputation.

Reserva de Alcuzcuz is a green and tranquil environment yet close to everything

Moving on, let’s talk about an area that’s filled with greenery, quietness and a sense of serenity, yet within walking distance of the hustle and bustle.. sounds perfect right?

We’re talking about Reserva de Alcuzcuz, a relatively new, up and coming area yet one that’s holding its’ fair share of luxury property, one of which has just been sold!

Now, it’s a common misconception that ultra expensive luxury properties are over the top, shouty boxes that look completely out of place in their surroundings. For some that is true, however the property we’re about to tell you about was a veritable work of art, and a passive, energy efficient green home to boot.

Enter Villa Alcuzcuz… a superlative creation by the highly regarded developers Bright and interior design studio UDesign.

Villa Alcuzcuz, a new standard of living brought to life

Villa Alcuzcuz brings about a new standard of living in Marbella. A passive house that brings around an energy saving of 75% in a world becoming increasingly more conscious about its’ carbon footprint is bound to be sought after, and this was exactly the case with Villa Alcuzcuz.

This design and standards are synonymous with Bright, as is also shown in their latest development of Vista Lago Residences, which you can view HERE.

As a company that prides itself of working with very best people on the Costa Del Sol in order to offer an unsurpassed quality of service to our clients, Verdin Property look forward to enjoying a successful relationship with Bright and UDesign in the future.

Puente Romano, one of the top picks for the elite

Welcome to Puente Romano. Even the name oozes class…

Known as being one of the most expensive places to purchase property on the Costa Del Sol, prices in this charming beachside resort typically start from around 1 million euros for an apartment.

Commanding prices of up to 30,000 euros per square meter and maintaining strong levels of interest from prospective purchasers requires a location that is secure, exclusive and offers all amenities the modern businessman needs, and boy does Puente Romano deliver!

With world class tennis courts on your doorstep, where the likes of Novak Djokovic now train, the superb and critically acclaimed Sea Grill restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean Sea next door to you and of course the world renowned Puente Romano hotel and members club to enjoy… what’s not to like about this little slice of sophisticated paradise?

One of the most exclusive properties for sale in Puente Romano

One of the properties Verdin Property can offer for sale is a beautiful masterpiece, which you can view HERE. On the market for a cool 4 million euros, this elevated ground floor property is sold fully furnished and offers its’ owner excellent sea views as well as plenty of space both indoors and outdoors.

And seeing as properties in this stylish resort can be sold in as little as 24 hours (speaking from experience) we highly recommend that anyone who is interested in enjoying the high life by the sea in one of Marbella’s most desirable areas should contact us at their earliest convenience!

Whilst there are of course many other exclusive areas to live on the Costa Del Sol, such as Sierra Blanca and Sotogrande, we feel these locations are the crème de la crème in 2021 and sales figures certainly back us up on this!
